Nutritionals per 340g serve: 388cal (1620kJ), 17g protein, 8.2 g fat, 57.8g carbs, 7.5g sugars, 1190mg sodium

Cooked rice mix: Cooked brown rice (37%) (water, brown rice), cooked red quinoa (6%) (water, red quinoa)

Beef and basil sauce: Water, onions, flavours (sugar, basil puree (0.5%), soy sauce powder, salt, vinegar, natural colour (150a), sesame oil, natural oyster flavour (wheat, fish), yeast extract, spices, natural flavour, vegetable powder, sunflower oil), canola oil, thickener (1422), garlic, chilli (soy), ginger, pepper), broccoli, shiitake mushrooms, capsicum, beef (13%) (beef, water, thickener (1442), soy protein, mineral salt (451), dextrose, natural flavours

Pros: Relatively low in calories.

Cons: Extremely high carb (mostly rice), only 13% beef, no where near enough vegetables for a meal, high in salt.

Rating: 1 star. I am not a fan of frozen meals and this ‘wholegrain option’ is not that much better than the majority of high carb meals out there.

Tips:  If you have time to heat a frozen meal, you have time to cook some brown rice and tuna or an omelette and get a lot more nutrition.
